Desert Hike

I went on an early morning hike with my wife (pictured here) at the Cove area south of La Quinta, CA. Many trails led into the surrounding desert, ranging from short half mile sections to more lengthy 2+ mile long trails.

We explored the area around the dike, built I assume to channel runoff from the surrounding hills. The trail to the right of my wife is situated on top of said dike. It leads from one side of the Cove to the other, connecting the longer trails which we plan to take the next trip.
