Apple on a G string
Trying out my new lens, a 35mm prime.
Lens problems... this is the last time I'm going to talk about it. Okay, it isn't, I admit. But... I dropped one, sent it to get fixed, 6 weeks, it wasn't, sent it back.
I tried another 28-70 f2.8, second hand, loved it, bought it the next week, got it home on Tuesday, AF wasn't working. Seller gave me my money back - phew!
I decide to get a 35mm 1.8 prime to tide me over -- arrive, panting with excitement at Jessops... they're all out! There appears to be a run on these lenses. I guess I'm not surprised because they've been well reviewed and are CHEAP at the price.
So I go next door to Jacob and they have one... on the shelf. "I only put it on today, look it hasn't even got a price tag yet." Hmmmm... so I bought it anyway. I'd built up too much head not to. Though... AF is noisy, considering it's meant to be an AF S. Still, I am liking it so far. f1.8, wow.
In other news, with this journos strike on the Beeb I am reduced to listening to Fox News on the internet. It's like a Chris Morris comedy. Played straight, but hysterically funny -- especially funny because the only ones who get the joke are listeners, like me, with a twisted liberal agenda. Right now they're up in arms because comedian Tina Fey (who takes the piss out of Sarah Palin) is biased. Jeez.
Cringe comedy, though, you can only take so much of, like chocolate - and work.
