Bonfire Night

Finally back on theme!!

There are some beautiful blips of fireworks tonight - I guess the combination of Diwali and Bonfire Night here in the UK makes for a particularly spectacular evening! Unfortunately mine is not one of them :(

We live very close to the fire station and the cricket pitch - tonight the Fire Brigade put on their big firework display...at the cricket pitch. We took a chance and decided to see if we could watch from the comfort of our warm and dry house!

Well the good news is that apart from one slightly too tall tree, we had a very good view.

The superb news is that we had an even better view of the very impressive firework display someone was putting on on the other side of the valley.

The best news of all is that I could sit on my bed and by merely turning my head I could watch both!

As an aside, for anyone who cares, the plumbing drain man finally came back and sorted out the blocked drain. It was pretty straightforward and apart from now having a big hole and a lot of mud, the drain itself is fine. I did take photos but decided to blip badly on theme instead
