Tranquility
Strolling around the farm looking for inspiration this Buzzard flew over me. I had a nanosecond to pick up the camera and shoot so of course everything was set wrong. I wrote it off and got on with other things but when I had a look later I rather like what came out.
I spend hours watching buzzards flying over us and always think that they are peaceful looking birds. Their only enemy seems to be the crows that they are permanently at war with. The crows always start the fight, they are slower and smaller but can climb faster so they keep getting above the buzzards and diving on them. The buzzards have no problem dodging this but the crows just try over and over again. It can go on for ages until the buzzard gets sick of them and leaves. The crows think they have won but in reality I am sure that the buzzard would have no problem fighting back if it chose to but it never does. I think they are the moral winners and masters at turning the other cheek.
