The Boiler
We went for an unplanned walk on Porthmeor beach today because the sea was rough and we were passing. Sarah probably would have been better without high heeled boots on though.
This is the Island and on the left the black odd shape rock is actually the boiler from the SS Alba that ran aground there in 1938. Its only visible at a very low tide and its mostly sunk in the sand with just the top and some tubes showing. Its amazing that its been there 72 years and hasn't rusted away.
