Bird's Nest Fungus (Cyathus striatus)

Another quick blip today. I knew where these fungus were so a dash out into the dreadful weather and here they are.
The 'eggs' in the middle of the 'crucible' ('bird's nest' .. if you prefer) are the spores and largely rely on raindrops to dislodge them and spread them to surrounding bits of dead wood. They are less than a centimetre across.
