Border Crossing
It always seems quicker going home, and we reached the border sooner than we thought. The drive on Friday from here to the hotel certainly took longer, but then it was very very dark!
So no border control to go through, and therefore no signs to say 'no photos', as both Slovakia and Poland are part of the Schengen area and therefore one can move freely from one to the other. I've been living in Poland for nearly 18 months and this is the first time I've (left and) returned by road.
We left at lunch-time, after a fairly early breakfast, which afforded us a couple more hours in the spa. We did more than half of the journey (and the prettiest part) in daylight, with the last three hours in darkness, as we willed away the countdown of kms on the satnav and scoured the horizon for the bright lights of Warsaw to appear. The roads were good on the whole - despite the roadworks, crazy drivers and rain, but we were very glad to reach home... my little car did me proud!
So an absolutely fabulous girly weekend of pure decadence in the High Tatras. Next time we need to allow at least three full days there to make the very very very long journey worthwhile!
