The eleventh hour on the 11/11/10

Today is Armistice Day.

This day commemorates the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front, which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning?the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918.

20 millions lives were lost during that war. 60 million died in World War II

Today our armed forces are putting their lives at risk on our behalf fighting terrorism across the globe. I would like to pay tribute to their courage and dedication.
Having a member of our family in the army, we are so acutely aware of the impact this has on us all.
