Blah, cops . . .
OK, so i drove home at 7.30 today from Stirling to try and maximise my time with everybody's new favourite game. I am a huge fan of the Call of Duty franchise, and have played since the days of COD2 on the PC. It was a popular game at the time but this was in 2005, and online gaming was big on pc but xbox 360 was only just releasd so it was still not that big a deal. Fast forward to 2009 and CoD4 had sold 19million copies in a year and a half. This game however, shifted 4.7 million copies in the first 24hrs. Without question online gaming is one of the most mainstream past times, which is a stark contrast from the "geek" stereotype it once had.
In terms of real soldiering though, i cant say i have ever been involved. I did however, respect the 2 minute silence yesterday and did a little research into the grave of the "unknown soldier". It is because of the work of our bravest people that we are allowed to enjoy the freedoms that we have. You might not agree with what they do, but you should support them regardless. After all, it's a job that someone has to do.
