Portrait of Cheltenham
This is me at the book launch for Portrait of Cheltenham.
It's been the project of fashion photographer Remy Whiting. He wanted to capture the spirit of a town in the portraits of 100 people connected to it. It's a beautiful book and a brilliant project that's helping two Cheltenham charities - Winston's Wish and the National Star College.
I was really pleased to be part of his vision and the launch party was a great success.
Environmental campaigner Jonathon Porritt wrote the foreword in his book. I really liked his closing paragraphs.
He said: "What Remy Whiting has done in his Portrait of Cheltenham is to invite people not to consume his images but to stop and look. The date (2010) and the place (Cheltenham) could in fact be any time, anywhere, and his subjects could be everyman and everywoman. But this just happens to be our town and our time. And the Portrait is for all to enjoy."
