Sniff
Elizabeth is full of the cold. Last night was a wee bit upsetting (much more so for the little girl). She was getting really stuffed up when she was lying down, it's her first proper cold so she just didn't understand what was happening. She ended up working herself into such a state that she made herself sick, a lot.
There was no way she would take any calpol. So we used some vicks in the end to help her sleep. But she kept waking (every half hour), until we brought her into bed with us and she slept propped up on her daddy's arm. So he got cuddles for the rest of the night, which pleased him too.
I stayed off work today and kept Elizabeth home. She's been a bit fragile, but generally ok. I'm glad I kept her home, I don't think it would have been fair/right to expect the childminder to deal with her while she wasn't quite right. It wouldn't be fair on the other kids either. Hopefully she'll be better by Thursday to go back again.
We had a nice morning together, playing and snuggling on the sofa. I put her in her carseat to have her morning nap. She slept for nearly an hour. I was expecting her to sleep longer to catch up from last night.
In the afternoon we drove out to Tesco, bought some cold remedies and some 9-12 month clothes (the first in that size that I've bought), then had a coffee/cake/baby biscuit in the cafe before coming home. Still loving the new car seat. I was able to see when she fell asleep in my mirror. So I took a detour on the way home to make sure she had a longer nap.
