Birds

On the way back from Magalas this flock of birds covered the road. Each time a car approached they would rise into the sky and then settle back onto the road as soon as it had passed, something I've never seen before. I don't know what birds they were - they were very small and there must have been hundreds, if not thousands, of them. I think it's too late for migrating birds to gather together so they're probably here for the winter. Does anyone have any idea? I've put some more photos here.
