Berliner Altbau

What could be better than a lovely, classicistic Berlin building, where you just know how high the ceilings, huge the rooms, how squeaky the wooden floors, and how colourful the tiled coal ovens behind the walls must be (mostly removed from the rooms these days - people just don't have the stamina anymore to carry up coal from the cellar every morning, but I still remember the green one that was in my room).

I grew up in something like this - must be why I still love it so much.
