Borrego Springs Sculpture

Shown here is the head of one of the Galleta Meadows Sculptures in this little known town an hour and half drive of Palm Springs, CA. The sculptures are scattered throughout desert and await discovery as one drives down the roads of Berrego Springs.

Artist Ricardo Breceda of Perris, CA welds scrap reinforcement bars, wire, and metal together and then adds life-like texture by pounding the materials with hammers. Funded by local town visionary and benefactor Dennis Avery the sculptures now number in the dozens.
