Christmas hell

We had to nip into town today as Maddy had birthday cash over and above what was needed for her Wii. She really wanted to get a second controller so she could have two player games of things with her mates.

I thought the hell was over once we managed to get the console but it appears the shortages are just as large when it comes to the controllers. Admittedly we only tried one block of Princes street where HMV, Virgin, Game and Gamestation are located, but on the first Saturday in December that's more than enough. the whole street was pretty much as pictured here, just throngs of shoppers wandering aimlessly about looking for inspiration or that one shop which has the item they want in stock.

Still it wasn't a dead loss. Maddy got another game and I got a cheap bushmans hat from the Romanes and Patterson fire clearance sale shop. It's still the last time I'll brave Princes Street this year though.
