Global Nomadness

Natural Selection

I have 36 pairs of shoes, boots, sandals, sneakers and flip flops. They are an intrical part of my existence, and if I had 35 extra pairs of feet, I would wear all of them every day. I love shoes..... comfortable unique and cute shoes, that is.

But alas, I mourn the somewhat loss of my mid-calf platform ankle booties, which met their demise two months ago upon the hardwood steps in my old college roommate's house in Indiana. A slight slip and *snap!*.... And now that the weather is cooling down and I've retired my summer shoes, I contemplate whether I find a cobbler to perform major surgery on them, or if I barrel down and venture to the mall -- a place I avoid like the plague.

I do have six other pairs of boots I could wear, but just like a comfortable pair of jeans, I'm rather attached to these particular pedi-covers, even though wearing them throws off my center of gravity, causes me to stumble quite often, and just forget about running for the bus (or running anywhere for that matter).
