MiniMillions
I often dream of winning the lottery, and today it happened.... Okay, maybe I didn't win the jackpot, but I won $3. After a little celebrating, followed by the happy dance, it occured to me that $3 doesn't buy much these days. Sure, I could buy three more lottery tickets. Maybe a couple candy bars. And even a bag of chips. But it really ends there.
I can't buy a gallon of gasoline. No Happy Meal for me either, which might be just as well since they don't even include toys anymore. Valet parking is downsized to using the three bucks to feed the meter. I afford the dollar for a luggage cart at the airport, but these days it's $25 per bag on top of that. Three dollars doesn't buy those gossip magazines at the supermarket checkout, so I'll continue to choose the longest line just so I can read them while waiting and catch up on the latest.
But three dollars is a lot of money to those less fortunate, so I'll keep my winnings in my pocket and give it to someone who could use it more than me.
