Spiky
I took my lunch to the South Bank and sat on the balcony of the Royal Festival Hall to watch folk putting up the Christmas Fair sheds. To reach the south back, I crossed the Hungerford Bridge, which is a pedestrian walkway that runs alongside the railway bridge into Charing Cross station. There are flat surfaces that jut out where the legs of the railway bridge sit. To discourage people from jumping from the pedestrian walkway on to these flat areas of the railway bridge (if the gap between with the Thames below isn't off-putting enough), there are rows of nasty-looking spikes. Somehow, however, people do manage to access the railway bridge and spray graffiti on the structure. Some folk just throw milk cartons and spotty umbrellas at the areas, which is a far safer activity.
