Epicentre Kink

I took my daughter, FirehorseMia and granddaughter, Isabella to see the epicentre of the big earthquake. This is the stock water race on Telegraph Road at the place where the road was displaced sideways. (See here for the kink in the road.) Like the road the race used to be dead straight, but now it takes a bit of a turn.

The trees on the left had to be felled because they were unstable. They used to be in line with the other trees, but were shunted more than 3 metres.

FirehorseMia has blipped the other side of the road.

It has been lovely having the girls here.

Please spare a thought for 29 miners missing underground in the Pike River coalmine here in the South Island of New Zealand.
