analysis:
the advert portrays superman in a way we've never seen before: skinny and frail, pale and sickly - you can even see protruding cheek bones and his rib cage sticking out from underneath his blue suit.

it tackles our preconceived notions of superheros, like superman. we've always known him to be physically fit, have superhuman strength, and aside from the occasional bout of kryptonite poisoning, pretty much be undefeatable. but when your foe is aids, the tables are turned.

the message here is that aids can bring everybody down to the same, vunerable level - even those who we think are invincible, like ourselves.
