hannaheno's daily lives

By hannaheno

Dawn chorus

Today I walked to work - something I should do more often. It was dark when I got up but quickly lightened as I walked, with a beautiful almost 'mackerel-esque' sky - bird's egg blue with striations of high cloud. Against this a last few autumn leaves are hanging on in Moorpool.

My +/- 4 mile walk (I take a long route) was duly rewarded with a 'gingerbread latte' at the other end. Today is a day of freedom in our building (which houses the Vice Chancellor) with the threat of mass student protests looming for tomorrow and the building on 'lock down'. Yesterday we spotted a few students scoping out the rooms in our very large and hard-to-police building; they are obviously thinking ahead, perhaps with a view to camping in here from tonight.

Would that we all had so few worries as these leaves ....
