Palace of Holyrood House (Edinburgh) - founded in 1128 by King David of Scotland.

This is strange but true, said to be one of the most haunted Royal Palaces, aparitions of Lord Darnley (King Consort of Mary Queen of Scots, murdered here, in 1567. Also David Rizzio murdered in front of Mary Queen of Scots in this part of the palace 9th March 1565, on this day each year his bloodstaines are said to reappear on the palace floor each year at the time of the murder!!
