Edinburgh Winter 10

This is a picture of the old boat house on Edinburgh's Polwarth Canal, not many people realise that Edinburgh has a canal. In fact it used to be a very important transport link during the industrial revolution, it has been re-opened and you can sail by narrow boat from Leith, Edinburgh to Glasgow via the Falkirk Wheel, (Forth and Clyde canal system.

It makes me want to live on a houseboat.

It was cold this morning but a very beautiful walk, also the canal has been the setting for several notable films, one being "Young Adam" starring Euan Macgregor aka Obi Wan Kenobi, and Tilda Swinton, aka White Witch in Narnia.
