Shooting in the Dark

Frosty start and a cold wind this morning. One of those winds which make your eyes and nose stream in unison - a great look for the winter, I find

Had a nice lunch with colleagues at work today to celebrate a 60th birthday. We seem to have a rush of "big" birthdays on the way - a 40th in December, a 40th and a 50th in January and a 30th in April! Not bad when in total there are only about 19 of us in the company!

Lack of daylight hours is making it hard to find things to blip some days :) Fortunately Mr LIF was instructed to bring back flowers yesterday when he went out shopping and he duly obliged!

So its back to the old staple of flowers today. Not as simple as doing it in the summer with loads of natural light and my old faithful point and click. Photographing the flowers indoors with the new camera meant fiddling with the knobs, trying to avoid shadows and finding enough light all in the one breath! More practice required :) Suits me - an excuse to buy fresh flowers on a regular basis!
