Purple Finch

I have been trying and trying to get a good picture of the birds outside our front window. And finally today I was successful. So much so that I had multiple shots of several different birds including cardinals, finches and woodpeckers. This little purple finch won out.

At first I thought this was a fledgling cardinal, but after googling northeastern red birds, I figured out it is a Purple Finch. Would not have thought it was a finch with the red coloring, but since I saw it on the Internet, it must be true. LOL!
