From the North

Today I have felt like 'tabula rasa' all day long and listened to an old Finnish song which I love to listen sometimes. The song is based on a poem by V. A. Koskenniemi and is called 'Minä laulan sun iltasi tähtihin' which straightly translated means 'I'll sing your night to the stars'.

Well, it's a Finnish song so I made a quick translation of it for you who won't understand it if you don't speak Finnish.

I'll sing your night to the stars
and make it full of moonlight
I'll make your morning, my love
be filled with purple larks of spring

I'll sing a flower into your hand
when your eyes get wet by sorrow
I'll make a rose garden out of the tract
where your little feet may roam

I'll sing the world far away
I'll take you to a home that's new
I'll sing your soul of pureness
over the times and eternity
