Shambles
Up early this morning to meet my sister at Waverley Station and jump on a train to York for our annual Christmas 'shopping' weekend away (There never seems to be much shopping done!)
Normally when we go to York we can't get over how cold it is. Unfortunately it was rain that faced us this time, from morning until night it did not stop.
Put a bit of a damper on things (no pun intended!) but we had a lovely day, actually did a bit more shopping than usual, then headed to the hotel.Had a rest & a freshen up then out for an amazing and very yummy Thai meal at Siam House.
After that we had a wander along the Shambles, then headed for a drink, but just had one - York can get a bit like Edinburgh's Lothian Road on a Saturday night and all the pubs were too packed to get a seat.
Back to the hotel we sat at the window watching a real live episode of Booze Britain We had an 80's disco called 'The Reflex' across the street from our room and it provided a good hour of curtain twitching, pointing and laughing.
I really must be getting old if I'm finding it fun to sit indoors of an evening watching other people have fun, but I don't care - they were funny!
