Abalone Fishing Lure

"Would you come to our family's holiday meal?"

What an honor, to be invited into the inner world of another family, to sit down and share a meal, oh, but first, the gathering time. The home was old and interesting, lots of things to see, lots of warm, friendly pictures to take. But the moment I liked best, was entering the living room (I sort of felt like an intruder) to see the men huddled around a little box full of antique fishing lures, sorting through the little bags, our host describing each one. I asked if I could borrow one long enough to take it's picture. I got 'a look' from our host that told me my request seemed 'odd' and 'are you sure you'll bring it back?' but he allowed me my private time with his special lure. Phew!

The food was delicious, the company charming, the day delightful. Rest feels good.
