Lost its grip

On August 25 I pictured a strong gripping vine, surrounded by lush green leaves

Today, we are at the other end of the cycle. Things are black and dripping. It thaws
This particular gripping vine slowly decays on the galvanized wire
Leaving barely nothing when its successor will reach for the same wire

In half a year's time.
