Coal

Evening all. I took a photo this morning using a pocket camera. After a problem the other day with the date (it was a full year out) which I thought I'd fixed, I found that it wasn't fixed. It was still showing 5 Dec 2009. I'd forgotten to hit the 'ok' button when I first thought I'd fixed it. So..........with nothing else catching my eye today I photographed the camera with the image of a statue of a coal miner on its display screen.

Perhaps one day in generations to come power, heat and light can be fuelled in full from sustainable resources. Until then, for who rely on coal power to heat their homes, three cheers for the coal miners who brave the depths to release the resource. It's not a job I'd like to do.

The statue shrouded in snow is on the site of former coal mine land and is now a beautiful country park.
