What do you do when you need to get across town really quickly because the the public transport system is grinding to a halt under the weather?

Walk right along Princes Street on the wrong side, in the middle of the road against the flow of absolutely nae traffic.

Edinburgh buses all got taken off the roads this afternoon and as they constitute the vast majority of traffic on Princes Street in Edinburgh, it provided a rather pleasant and unique way to cross the city centre for those few of us that realized the opportunity was there.

I was thinking of taking the park route as well and it turned out I managed to even get a window seat in the near vacant train sitting waiting for me.
