Today's the day .................. to walk the streets of London

Travelled down to London today by train. It was quite the most amazing journey through countryside frozen white and a background of blue, blue skies and sun. Hedgerows, trees and fields were covered in a thick white coating of frost - it was like being on a strange alien planet.

Then within half an hour of Euston, it all changed to something more like planet earth. Green fields and unfrozen rivers appeared again. The streets of London had no snow or ice to negotiate. It was as if the wintry spell had never happened down here. The atmosphere everywhere is very christmassy with decorated trees and the shops full of baubles and tinsel.

Couldn't help being aware though of a high level of police surveillance going on. Must be in preparation for those marches that are planned to take place tomorrow on the streets against the proposed rise in student fees ...............?!
