Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Christmas Red

Early this morning before Mr. Fun exited the house, I came downstairs and noticed the sunlight illuminating the poinsettia on the patio. I stepped outside with my camera to attempt to capture the sight. A skilled photographer could have captured the beauty. This doesn't come close to the first take-my-breath-away view I had through the dining room window, but this will remind me days and months from now when I view it again of how much I enjoyed watching the sunlight dance through those Christmas red blossoms.

Later in the morning I sat upstairs in the master bedroom where the sun was shining through the glass door. I graded student papers there until I was so warm that I needed to move from the direct light. Instrumental Christmas music was filling the room and reading the last essay my students have composed is quite interesting (I mentioned this yesterday).

Tomorrow I meet with my students for the very last time. Next week they will simply drop off their final and be gone. My Thursday students have been a terrific group of people and I plan to explain that to them tomorrow, and then late afternoon will be the holiday Christmas party presented by the college president, and then in the evening is the holiday concert. Tomorrow is going to be big and wide. I'm looking forward to all of it.

Eighty degree weather has been predicted for the next few days. So I'm anxious to see if the weather folks are right.

Good night from Southern California.
