They were wrong again
Meteorologists. Whaddo they know. They predicted 14 to 17 inches. We got 20, at the airport, where their snow meter is.
Overnight, the howling, arctic wind took whatever fell and made beautiful drifts and swirling dune patterns in the strangest places. None of them got blipped because there was only one reason to be outside and that was to move the snow off the driveway, the paths and around to the alley trash can. Double teaming worked well; one hacking at the three and four foot drifts in places to soften it and break it up, the other one blowing it. Taking frequent breaks to warm up (it felt like -22 with the wind still whipping) was a good idea. Numb fingers and toes despite proper attire didn't take long to set in.
After an 8 am to 4:30 pm of doing nothing but, we can now get out into the street if need be. Having hacked through the first three foot wall at the entrance to the street that the plow left on his first pass, we can rest assured that there will be another one waiting in the morning.
There is not a bone or muscle in my body that is not hurting. Tomorrow I will blip some huge walls of snow in case you don't feel sorry for me or believe me.
