Carnation swirl

I chose one beautiful red carnation from the vase of flowers for this evening's blip. After photographing it, I set to work on the processing. I had great fun with a number of techniques but settled on this one to post in the end.

I like the effect of the swirling on the delicate petals. The alternatives included an impressionist effect and a watercolour effect, both nice but not as striking as this.
