Bedtime

I had to babysit tonight, so managed to get a last minute blip of two of the kids brushing their teeth. The oldest one, as mentioned, hates having her photo taken, and was trying to avoid brushing her teeth anyway.

The most notable thing that happened today was that the dad and I boiled some cauliflower (some fractals, actually) in water for an hour and nothing happened - it remained pretty much as hard as it was when we put it in. How insane is that?? We think it was because the mum microwaved it that morning, though I have no actual scientific proof that microwaving stuff means it then will not cook. Seems counterproductive.

Oh, the other thing that happened was that the kids went to their dad's office party (which had some serious provisions for children - they came back with balloons and their faces painted, majorly hyped up on sugar) for the entire afternoon! It was wonderful. Peace and quiet. I tidied and cleaned the majority of the house. Lovely.
