Champs Elysees

So this is the Champs Elysees at nighttime, from the top of the big wheel that is currently in Place de la Concorde as part of the Christmas market. You can see big Obelisk in the centre of Place de la Concorde, and at the top, slightly hidden by the lights of all the cars, is the Arc de Triomphe.

The big building (and boy, is it big! I'd never seen it from this view before) halfway up the Champs Elysees is the Palais Royal, a museum. It was built for the Exposition Universelle in 1900, which is what the Eiffel Tower was built for (as the entrance!), as well as many prominent edifices in Paris, such as the Musee D'Orsay, Gare de Lyon and the Pont Alexandre III. Also, the first Metro line (the 1) was put into operation for the start of the Exposition. Must have been one hell of an undertaking!

I couldn't get the Eiffel Tower into this shot because it was too cold to sit in the position needed to include it. You will survive, I already uploaded one picture of it, how many do you need? :)
