Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Christmas "Rock"

We found the Trans-Siberian Orchestra The Christmas Trilogy DVD and 3 CD set at a local Friends of the Library store. It was still sealed in cellophane. I've seen it in the marketplace and wondered if it would be any good, but I didn't want to pay full price for something that we'd only play one season a year. So finding it for a bargain price was a treat. I just hoped it would be good.

When we got it home Monday, I asked Mr. Fun if we skip some of the junk on TV that evening so we could watch this new DVD.

Last year I had heard the music of TSO while I was out shopping. I liked it immediately and downloaded one song to my iPod.

Watching this DVD was the same experience. This music is "classical rock" produced by Paul O'Neill, who is renowned for his work with Aerosmith to Savatage. He created the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

I love all music. I love music that rocks. I love music that's loud -- "once a rock n roller, always a rock n roller!"

As far as I am concerned, we brought home a winner. We have lots of Christmas music, and now I have a new favorite. It was more than a bargain.

Today I met my students for the very last time. All I have left to do is submit their semester grades. I'll do that real soon. For the moment I'm working on getting our Christmas card completed.

Good night from Southern California -- rain is on the way.

P.S. Thanks for all the comments on my photo with Mckenzie yesterday.
