Starting over
After a long and expensive stay at Mac hospital, my iMac is back in action with a new hard drive. It feels quite forlorn without all the photos, songs, writing and other stuff that was on it before it died. Behind it, making the occasional whirr, is my Christmas present - a 1TB external hard drive. Thank you, T. This is what early Friday morning looks like after last night's fresh snowfall. The living room overlooks our new neighbours and the orchard across the street. The back garden is reflected in the mirror above the iMac. And yes, one window is smaller than the other. When they built houses in these parts 130 years ago, they weren't too concerned with uniformity.
Everything feels different in many ways. Blipping feels different too. For starters, I've discovered that I'm not all that bothered if I don't post a picture daily. If I'm too busy or haven't found anything worth blipping, then I'll leave it until I do. Likewise with commenting. I've realised that the time I spend online has drastically cut into the time I want to spend on real life. I no longer want to be this dependent on machines, amusing though they may be. In the meantime, I've rekindled one of my great passions - cooking - thanks to the marvelous India Cookbook from which I have been cooking nonstop. Nothing makes me happier than a slow-cooked murgh makhanwala on a cold day, followed by this Chocolate Blackout Cake.
Hope all's well with you and yours.
