oh, he's human...

It's been a long and exhausting week with school dances to chaperone and photograph and all sorts of other Christmas related events. Yesterday (Thursday) we left school early due to bad weather and I think we all had our fingers crossed for a snow day today. Whatever we did, it worked! The slightly odd thing is that on days like this where the buses aren't running and the kids aren't invited to school teachers are still expected to come in if they can. We've had countless meetings about the finer points of this system because, understandably, people want to cover their own ass. I called in and got the go ahead to work from home, so I'm just going to assume everything is a-okay. Anyway, it's been good to ease my way into this stack of marking today.

I left you guys hanging last time. The thing with Angel is always going to be awkward, but I'm happy to be "Uncle" and I can't wait for my two little ladies to visit Europe some time so I can see them again/for the first time.

And the hangover, there was a staff Christmas party last Saturday. We went somewhere way down south, had an amazing dinner, drinks and dancing (Scottish). I managed to remain elegant considering my internal state, so thankfully I didn't embarrass myself in front of all my colleagues. After the numbers started to dwindle and only the true partiers remained we headed over to someones house for an afterparty which I have little recollection of and kind of wish I skipped because it reopened a door I was happy to have closed almost a year ago. Nothing I couldn't handle though.

Now I'm just counting the hours till I see my family in Athens next Wednesday.
