Happy Birthday

It is husbands birthday today and for once the weather co-operated nicely. Heavy snow and high winds meant that the Highland schools were closed and he had a day off to celebrate (well dig out the car and clear some paths but it's got to beat work). Once again Satans Minions were massively hyper (and annoying) so we turned them out into the snow with instructions not to come back in until frostbite set in.

I spent the day slaving over a hot stove preparing lasagne, dough balls and chocolate fondant. It was all going well until I went to get the plates out of the oven and accidentally grabbed the element instead. With no oven glove on. Actually heard my skin sizzle. Still the chocolate fondant was awesome.

The excitement was all too much for Minion number two though and she fell asleep standing up and only halfway through her bedtime bottle.
