.....we'll watch Christmas TV...........

Last day of term, finished for two weeks!

And it's snowing!

Strange day at school today. Only two lessons, first one I had 7 pupils who wanted to watch a DVD called "The Spy Next Door" and then 28 16 year olds who wanted to watch a couple of episodes of Blackadder Goes Forth. We were due an assembly but it was cancelled and then over to the staff room for drinks and mince pies and Secret Santa.

My present from Santa didn't materialise, the person who was supposed to buy it didn't turn in today! I wouldn't mind but the same thing happened last year!!! That's the last time I'm taking part, two years, more than £20 spent and nothing to show for it. Bah, humbug!

Had a nice beer after work with hebs and some of the others and then back home to prepare a Lamb Rogan Josh for me and the Boss.

I couldn't resist this blip tonight, we always buy this every year and plan out what we want to watch over the Holiday and just as importantly what we definitely don't want to watch. To be fair, we try to avoid the TV as much as possible or else you just vegitate for two weeks, but I bet there's loads of stuff the Boss will want recording.

I've decided to give you an interesting fact about Christmas between now and Boxing Day so here goes with the first one.............

An unrepealed Law , the Unlawful Games Act of 1541 banned every sporting activity on Christmas Day with the exception of archery practice. This law is still on the statute books and the only exception to it was granted in 1614 to allow "leaping and vaulting". So if you want to go outside on Christmas Day, leap in the air, vault over any obstacles you can find and shoot arrows at targets you can, but don't play football or any other ancient or modern sport or game or you could be subject to the long arm of the law!

Das vidanya my friends.
