Winter Walk

Another dusting of snow this morning and more on the way. After a morning of chores we considered taking the car off out down to Tentsmuir but given that the forecast was for more snow we opted for a local walk with the dogs.

Because it has been so icy we have not really ventured that far for the past three weeks, so we thought we would head towards the top of the hill. That, on a normal day, is a 1. hour round trip.

By the time we had reached the end of the woods and started to make our way uphill we realised that the top of the hill and back before darkk was unlikely. It had taken us 40 mins to do the easy part of the walk which normally only takes 15 or so minutes. Patches of ice underfoot, deep snow and flowing water where water should not be were slowing us down.

It was worth it though. We went as far as the nursery woods. High enough up to see towards Dundee and Perth and round the bay to St Andrews. Crisp skies overhead but out at sea the snow clouds were heavy and glowing orange. Very beautiful.

Even tho it was only around 2:45, this shot at the top of Willies wood shows that the sun was begining to think about going down. On the plus side only a few days till the nights start to draw out again ;)

p.s. New fish tank installed today - the fish now have light once more!

Time for Strictly and Cava, I think :) :)
