Deck the halls.....
Deck the halls with boughs of Holly,
Fa la la la laaaa, la laaaa laaaa laaaaa.
One of my favorite traditional Christmas songs. I say traditional because my favorite Christmas music usually involves a little pop and a sprinkle of funk mixed in. For example, Mariah Carey does wonders with Christmas music delight. And of course, I have to mention my favorite Christmas CD, 'It's a Rosie Christmas'.
And there is also the Christmas song that I sang in my Christmas church program when I was probably 10 years old. My first solo. "Oh Santa, (background singers: Santa) Do you know the really meaning of Christmas (background singers: doooo you knnnnnow just what it means). He was a baby born in manger small, son of God was he, the greeeeaaaatest gii-iift of all........" A couple of decades later and I still know the entire song by heart. I sang a couple of verses to my daughter this morning. She just giggled at me.
So today my Mom wanted to go to Nordstrom before she and my Dad headed off towards home. Can you even imagine hitting Nordstrom on the first weekend of Christmas break? That's the argument my Dad tried to rally with......he quickly lost that battle. Off to the mall we went. But my Mom is the only one who braved Nordstroms. My Dad took the kids to see the movie 'Yogi the Bear' and I ran on over to Costco (another mad house) to pick up my Christmas cards. When we all gathered together again, my kids had just finished lunch and were sipping on Chocolate milkshakes....compliments of HP (Huge Pop).
So when thinking about a blip today, I decided that I wanted something vibrant and expressive. And in this chilly winter air, these little red berries were just begging to be photographed. And you know what, I didn't mess with the saturation too much on this one. I was pleasantly surprised to see how vibrant it turned out when looking at it on my viewfinder. Naturally vibrant. Definitely meant to be.
