Jarvises detest being asked to leave bars that close early, i.e., before 3am. Sometimes that can be too early, and certainly any place that closes before midnight is to be avoided. The owners of many bars in the Berlin district of Freidrichshain feel much the same way. At Schaf 23 the opening hours are listed as 1900-??, which means it stays open as long as the bartender wants to keep working, which on Friday night/Saturday morning was about 7am. The Rothaus Tannenzäpfle pilsener (out of shot) was superb, reasonably priced and served with elan, and the customers were most engaging conversationalists. Very high Jarvis marks.
