HO HO *feck*

There's always something which goes wrong. At first I though it was almost running out of packing tape and not being able to find a big enough bag but it turned out to be the sodding parcel (combined leftover computer for sister and presents for fambly) weighing more than ten kilos and thus being ineligible for reasonably-reliable Special Delivery (which has the added advantage of being retained in the same post office at which my postiemother is based) rather than Parcelforce (package taken back to the depot twenty miles away). Luckily I have sufficient spare recycled packaging-polystyrene to fill up the space in the big box and post in two loads rather than risk Parcelforce. Off to the shop for heavy-duty bin bags and hopefully some parcel tape...

Marvellous. One parcel of nineish kilos and one of probably a little over two and thus of some expense to post compared to one just under two but it's christmas and sister will be paying the postage for her computer-parcel anyway. I will be slightly annoyed if the presents turn out to weigh just a few grams over two kilograms as it'll then mean that my over-cautious wrapping has cost me a significant number of pounds.
