Fronds of a tree fern, Thorndon, Wellington

After enjoying Christmas dinner at my mother's house, and taking the obligatory family photos, I escaped into the back garden with camera and tripod. The fronds of a tree fern (Wheki-Ponga - Dicksonia fibrosa), and the gradient from light to dark and green to black, caught my eye.
