Rusty Africa
Today, my son and I explored the former Shelly Bay air force base, on Wellington's Miramar peninsula. This complex of dilapidated military barracks, messes, workshops and ammo bunkers is a treasure trove of opportunities for devotees of abstract, decay and UrbEx ('urban exploration') photography.
Along the way we found this rusting metal cover. It features an astonishingly accurate map of Africa. Uncanny. Anyway, to paraphrase Toto, I've met the rust down in Africa...
