Christmas Day

It has been a very emotional Christmas Day.

Our first without Christian.

Opening our presents was just not the same.

After breakfast, we took flowers and Christmas cards to Christian's grave and stayed awhile, before we went on to my sister's for Christmas lunch.

As usual the lunch was really, really nice. They always try to do something different, and the food was very scrumptious. They'd been delving in the latest Jamie Oliver cookbook, so had all these new recipes.

So food was eaten, wine flowed, and conversation and laughter followed. Christian's portrait sat on the sideboard, so I felt he was there with us. So for a few hours our sadness was forgotten.

This is a picture of my sister's tree. Each year she themes her tree and this year it was all gold. The picture really does not do it justice, it was really very pretty.
