In the bleak midwinter...
Christmas Day 2010
But it wasn't really bleak at all on this Christmas Day. Rather, it was bright and sunny, and the sun falling directly on skin even felt warm. Perhaps that was just relative, since the air was pretty cold (it had been -19C in Worcester overnight).
Christina Rossetti's carol carries on
"
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone,
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow...
"
and for once every word of that was true. Today, however, frosty wind did NOT make moan!
A nice walk in the crisp and (fairly) even snow gave us a healthy appetite that we then satisfied over the next few hours...
I've put some
more photographs of this Christmas Day
on a separate web site. There you may find sparkling icicles, animal tracks that we discovered in the garden, more pictures of the park and the surrounding countryside, and a couple of shots of our Christmas Tree and the Spiral Tree.
Happy Christmas everyone!
